After graduation in 1940 from Garrison High School and entering Fargo Business College, she left North Dakota to join the U.S. Naval Reserves to serve at Oakland Naval Supply Base until late 1945.
After WWII, she married Raymond and raised their children in the Bay Area. She worked for the State of California for 27 years. Upon retirement, she returned to school and graduated with Honors from Canada College in 1986. She enjoyed traveling abroad, spoiling her grandchildren and gardening.
She is survived by her husband Raymond Guritz; her children Van, Terry, Michele, Rhonda, and Todd, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held at The Redwood Chapel. She was laid to rest at Skylawn Memorial Cemetery. REDWOOD CHAPEL, Redwood City.
