Bella was the eighth of 10 children born in Edwardsburgh, Ontario, to Elias Lawrence Jr and Mary Carmichael.
In 1915 she married farmer John Lawrence and they settled in near Spencerville to raise their family.
Sadly Bella died at 37, leaving seven children under the age of 15. John died seven years later and now the children were on their own.
