Wonza had a life long love of plants. Raised on a 160 acre farm in rural Alabama she learned how to raise everything she ate, but cherished flowers of all kinds. In 1943 she married her sweetheart, Burvil "Al" Sides and began an adventure that lasted 64 years. Throughout the years they traveled around the United States living in several states, but always returning to Sonoma. Each new place of residence soon included an extensive flower bed, and if room a vegetable garden.
Blessed with a gentle kind spirit, Wonza was known for her giving and caring spirit. She often found herself in the caregiver role when a friend or relative became ill. She loved children and spent many years working with the children of the church. Her five grandchildren and many newborn babies in the church were blessed to receive a handmade quilt which she lovingly fashioned.
Throughout her life Wonza loved music, beginning with the "Singin' Schools" of rural Alabama where she learned to sing four-part harmony. She was often found seated in the alto section.
Wonza will be remembered for her gentle spirit, love of music and flowers and the enormous love she felt for her family. She cherished each and every one and will be missed by all. She is survived by her loving daughters: Glenda Klaucke (Darryll), Joette Renenger (Don); devoted grandchildren: Alina Murphy (Jay), Colette Ramey (Michael), Michelle Hamilton (Mike), Brian Renenger (Mandy), Debbie Gilman (Paul): adoring great grand children: Dylan Murphy, Derek Murphy, Colin Gilman, Corrine Gilman and Abigail Hamilton.
