Sarah Katherine Coburn, 82, of McDermott, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at Hillview Retirement Center. She was born Dec. 2, 1929, in Grayson, Ky. a daughter of the late Ebert and Nannie Everman Rupert.

Sarah was a homemaker, of the Baptist faith and a 1947 Valley High School graduate.

She is survived by her husband, Clayton Frederick Coburn who she married Sept. 17, 1949, in Russell, Ky.; one daughter, Lois (Rick) Phillips of McDermott; two grandchildren Joel and Michael Webster (Christy); step grandsons Kyle (Drew) Phillips and Tyson (Elizabeth) Phillips; one great granddaughter Hannah Faith Webster; four step great grandchildren Sophie, Myles, Cameron, and Tori Phillips; two sisters Ann Stambaugh of Portsmouth and Nancy Campbell of Florida.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers James and Christopher Rupert; and four sisters Helen Poock, Harriett Gibson, Mary Jean Stewart, and Carla Blevins.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:15 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with Rick Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
