Annie Lee "Candy" Addison, 93, of Fernwood died Feb. 4, 2009, at McComb Nursing and Rehab. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Peoples Funeral Home chapel. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Fernwood with the Rev. Welmon Taylor Jr., pastor, and Samuel Charles McCullum officiating. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery.

Ms. Addison was born Oct. 20, 1915, in Amite County to Robert and Mollie Gardner Addison.

She was one of 10 children and resided in Fernwood most of her life. She was brought up in the church, and it was always a big part of her life. She was a member of St. Paul M.B. Church and for many years played an active role in the church.

She started working at Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula but left because she wanted to return to Fernwood. She went to work for Adams Poultry Plant until it closed. Later she worked at Bert's Cafe until she retired in 1982 at the age of 67. She was also a burial agent for Peoples Undertaking Co. for many years.

Annie Lee enjoyed baking, tending to her beautiful flowers and socializing within anyone who stopped by to see her. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Willie Pearl and Athus C. McCullum of Apple Valley, Minn.; one sister, Evelyn Washington of Milwaukee; one brother, Earl J. Addison of New Orleans; grandchildren, Robert E. and wife Sherry McCullum and George McCullum, all of Dallas, Samuel C. and wife Kathy McCullum of Mercer Island, Wash., Joyce A. Rogers of Farmington, Minn., Doris J. McCullum of Eagan, Minn., Kenneth and wife Kerry McCullum of Houston, Texas, Gary A. and wife Kathy McCullum and Sonya P. and husband Phillip Roberts, all of Chanhassen, Minn.; 16 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.
