Virginia E. Perry, 85 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 8:10 a.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2012 in the Woodcrest Nursing Center located in Decatur, Indiana.

Virginia was born on Tuesday, May 31, 1927 in Adams County, Indiana the daughter of the late Virgil Barkley and the late Estella (Cully) Barkley. She married the late Monroe L. Perry on June 15, 1946 in the East Liberty United Methodist Church in rural Monroeville, Indiana and he passed away on December 10, 1994.

Virginia was a member of the East Liberty United Methodist Church of rural Monroeville, Indiana; a former member of the Eastern Star; and a member of the General Electric Retiree's Club. She was a graduate of Monroeville High School Class of 1945.

Virginia retired in 1987 from the General Electric Company in Decatur after 27 years of service.

Surviving are her son, Gregg B. (Kathy) Perry of Monroeville, IN; daughter, Ellen J. (Todd) Rohrbach of Ft. Wayne, IN; daughter, Marilyn J. Perry of Ft. Wayne, IN; sister, Barbara Huston of Ft. Wayne, IN; sister, Lucille Lehman of Ft. Wayne, IN; two grandchildren: Perry Rohrbach and Tracy Ray; and five great-grandchildren: Regan Ray, Connor Ray, Cayli Miller, Caleb Rohrbach, and Grace Rohrbach.

Preceding Virginia in death were one sister, Glennis Barkley; and three brothers, Chalmer, Verlon, and Billy Barkley.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2012 in the East Liberty United Methodist Church with Rev. Ralph Klinker and Rev. Bill Farmer officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 12:00 NOON - 5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2012 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Preferred memorials are to Alzheimer's Association; to the church; or Hoagland EMS.
