Son of John Wesley Ferguson and Delphine Alexander Ferguson.

Married Gladys Myrtle Adcock and had three children: George Oliver Ferguson (1922-1942), Robert Wesley Ferguson (1925-2013), and Barbara June Ferguson Caughran (1932- ). The couple later divorced.

Married Ovelia Ferguson who survived him.

Died as a result of an accident while working in the oil fields in Mississippi.
