H. Feldmann Sr. Dies At Dubuque
Was Resident of Dyersville and Earlville Before His Death Sunday
Henry Feldmann Sr. passed away at the home of his daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Bastian of 757 Rush street in Dubuque Sunday evening, Sept. 15, at 6 o'clock.
The funeral was held from the Steger funeral home, Dyersville, to St. Joseph's church at Earlville Thursday morning at 9:00 am. Burial was made in St. Joseph's cemetery.
Mr. Feldmann was born at New Vienna, Iowa, Oct. 27, 1862, a son of Joseph and Gertrude Feldmann. At the age of 6 years, he moved to Dyersville with his parents.
On April 8, 1891, he was united in marriage with Miss Elizabeth Boge in St. Francis Xavier Church in Dyersville by Rev. George Heer.
They settled on a farm southwest of Dyersville, where they lived for 46 years, when they retired and moved to Earlville in November 1936. The homeplace is now owned and occupied by his son Anton.
After living in Earlville for 9 years, Mr. Feldmann was stricken with illness and they moved to Dubuque to lived with their daughter Catherine and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Bastian.
Survivors
The deceased is survived by his wife; six sons, Charles, Cascade; Anton, Earlville; Frank, Independence; William, John and Joseph, Hopkinton; four daughters, Frances, Mrs. Anton J. Nefzger, Earlville, Mary, Mrs. Wm. Adam, Gardena, Calif.; Elizabeth, Mrs. Aug. Fortmann, Rickardsville; and Catherine, Mrs. Wm. J. Bastian, Dubuque; one sister, Catherine, Mrs. Louis Meyer, Dyersville; 47 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons who died in infancy and one daughter, Mrs. Steve O'Hea, who died two years ago.
