Bernice worked shoulder to shoulder with Virgil while quietly helping him compensate for his near-blindness for most of their married life. Bernice had a passion for arts and crafts projects and loved to travel with the Justin Trailblazers senior center group. Bernice is survived by her daughter Janice Gail Dooley, son Virgil E. Eaves Jr., daughter-in-law Sharon G. Eaves, granddaughters Janet D. Dooley, Cynthia G. Dooley, and Ayla M. Eaves, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be remembered not only for her loving and generous nature but for the sense of fun and perfect comic timing, even in her final years.
Visitation will be held at Denton Funeral Home, 120 S Carroll Blvd, on August 25, 2012 at 3pm, and will be followed by services conducted by Pastor James Vanzant at 4pm. Interment will occur on August 26 at 3pm at Rock Prairie Cemetery in Madison County, Texas where she will rest beside her beloved Virgil. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be sent to the Alzheimer's Association in Bernice's remembrance.
