"SCHENEVUS - The community was shocked Monday morning to learn of the death of Worthy I. Magee at his home on Race street following a brief attack of tonsilitis which resulted in uremic poisoning. Mr. Magee was an ambitious, thirty [?] man always taking an interest in local affairs, maintaining an active place in church and Lodge to which he was affiliated. A son of Israel and Jane Loop Magee of Westford his birth occurred November 4, 1850. He married Miss Ella Manning of the township of Maryland about fifty years ago. Surviving relatives are the widow, one daughter, Mrs. D. Stanley Chase, a grand daughter, Mrs. Leroy Gardner of Albany and a great grand-daughter, Barbara Gardner, of Albany. Funeral services were held Thursday 2 p. m., from the M. E. church the pastor, the Rev. Robert E. Fletcher officiating. The Masonic services conducted by Schenevus Valley Lodge, F. & A. M., of which body he was a member, were rendered. The O. E. S. with which he was also affiliated attended in a body. The remains were interred in the family plot in Schenevus cemetery."
