He was born April 20, 1931, in Logan, Utah, the son of Andrew LeRoy and Erma Alice Christensen Eliason. He married Barbara Lee Turner November 5, 1956, in the Logan LDS Temple.
Roy started as a paper carrier for The Herald Journal and various other assignments and his dog, Pug, went along as his business partner. He worked as a bus boy at the Bluebird Restaurant.
He entered the U.S. Air Force November 15, 1950, and was honorably discharged November 30, 1970. He served his country in: Japan; Mountain Home, Idaho; Torrejón, Spain; Offutt Air Force Base, Neb.; and Mather AFB, Calif. He retired to Logan after his duty in California, and worked for the Eliason Meat Packing company as a driver for 14 years. He began driving for Cook Transportation in 1984 and also worked at Utah State University as a bus driver on the campus shuttle bus.
He was an active member of the LDS Church in the Logan East Stake and Logan 20th Ward. He was a high priest and he and his wife served as temple missionaries as well as many other church callings.
Survivors include his wife of Logan; two daughters, Mrs. Carlos (Gayle) Alvarez, Meridian, Idaho; Mrs. Allen (Becky) Mouritsen, Wellsville, Utah; three sisters, Mrs. Eldon (Erma Faye) Stoddard, Layton; Mrs. Robert (Alice Jean) Hubenthal, Layton; Mrs. Tom (Myrna) Tudor, Layton; and a half-brother Ivan Eliason, Heyburn, Idaho.
Burial was in Logan City Cemetery.
