Longtime Olympia resident, DeLoris Burke, passed away August 17, 2012, at the age of 82, after a brief, rare illness. She was born in Wenatchee, WA on October 1, 1929 to Manuel and Christina (Dena) Deeg. She was passionate about crocheting baby blankets and hats for the newborns at Madigan Hospital, donating her time and talent to the Madigan Nannies for the past eight years. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, and was a devoted Mariners fan. Her family was extremely important and she was very committed to spending time with them. She had a very caring, giving and generous heart and was loved very much. She will be greatly missed!

She is survived by her children, Sandra (Mark) Mount, Brian Burke, and Julie (John) Hairston; grandchildren, Eric (Christina) Mount, Jared Mount and his fiancé Leah Meskin, Amanda and Kindra Burke, and Craig Hairston; great-grandchildren, Nicolas and Christopher Mount; her brother, Darrel (Diana) Deeg; and niece, Debbie Deeg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton; her baby daughter, Susan Marie; and nephew, Darren Deeg.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 26, 2012, at the Masonic Memorial Park, 455 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA.
