Julia D. Joplin, 96, of Clearfield, PA died Friday, September 10, 2004 at Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehablitation Center, Clearfield.

Born December 28, 1907 in Clearfield,PA she was the daughter of P.T. Davis and Minnie (Smith) Davis.

She was a long-time continuity writer for Radio Station WCPA, prior to that she worked as a secretary in the radiology department of the Clearfield Hospital.

She was a 1925 graduate from the Clearfield High School and Highland Hall, Hollidaysburg. She also graduated with honors from Pine Manor College, Wellesley, MA.

She was a former board member of the Children's Aid Society, a long time member of the Clearfield Curwensville County Club where she was an avid golfer, she donated the silver trophy known as the "Davis Cup" for the annual ladies spring tournament she was also a member of the Red Cross Canteen Corps during WWII. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Clearfield.

She is survived by a niece Virginia Davis Baggett and her husband Bruce of Clearfield; also survived by great niece Paige Baggett Riggins of Orlando, FL and a great nephew Timothy Baggett of Los Angeles, CA.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday September 15, 2004 at Noon at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Clearfield with Dr. Douglas S. Pride
officiating.

The family suggests contributions be made to the Donors Choice.
