Sister Marie was born on August 1, 1920 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin, the daughter of Raymond and Octavia Lepine Laque.
Sister entered the Congregation of Saint Agnes in 1936 from St. Luke's Parish in Two Rivers, professing her vows on August 15, 1939.
For thirty-three years Sister Marie taught elementary grades in New York, Michigan and Wisconsin. After retiring from the classroom Sister served as secretary and librarian for nearly twenty years in schools in Indiana and Wisconsin. Wherever Sister served she also shared her musical talent, often serving as organist and choir director. Sister Marie joyfully shared her talents of sewing and craft making with others.
Survivors include her brother, Leo Laque (Lucille) of Two Rivers, Wisconsin, an aunt, Sister Regis Lepine CSA of Fond du Lac, WI., a niece and two nephews, other relatives and the members of the Congregation of St. Agnes with whom she lived and ministered.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:15 P.M. on Monday, October 30, 2006 at St. Francis Home Chapel, 33 Everett Street in Fond du Lac. The Rev. Oliver Bambenek OFM.Cap. will be the celebrant with Fr. Edward Sippel and Fr. Joseph Wolf OFM.Cap will concelebrate. Burial will follow the Mass of Christian Burial and will be at St. Joseph Springs Cemetery in Fond du Lac.
Visitation: Visitation will be held at Nazareth Court, 375 Gillett Street in Fond du Lac after 9:00AM on Monday, October 30, 2006, where a prayer service will be held at 1:00P.M.
Memorials may be directed to the Sisters of St. Agnes Development Ministry Fund.
