Mr. Riley was born in Boonville and lived in Connersville before moving to Muncie in 1947. He worked as a diesel mechanic for Muncie Mack Trucks until his retirement in 1976. He was an associate member of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 87.
Surviving are his wife, Genevieve Brownewell Riley; three sons, Kenneth Riley of Parker City, Robert D. "Bud" Riley of Muncie, and Jack Tindall of Indianapolis; two daughters, Elinor Gambrell of Marion and Phyllis Hall of Muncie; several step-children; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Calling hours at the mortuary will be 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
