James Marion Bell
James Marion Bell, 56, a resident of 116 Burnett St., Bay St. Louis, died at 11:08 a. m. Saturday at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans.

Mr. Bell was a service man for the Cigarette Vending Machine Co., of Bay St Louis. He was born April 27, 1910, in Nebraska.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edith Mauffrey Bell, Bay St Louis; two daughters, Cheryl Ladner and Denise Ladner, three sons, Terrance Ladner, James M Bell and Albert L Bell, all of Bay St Louis; two brothers, Albert Bell, Colorado and Sam Bell, Iowa.

The funeral was held this morning at Riemann’s Fahey-Whitfield Funeral Home in Bay St Louis with the Rev Billy Joe Harrison, pastor of the Shifalo Baptist Church, Kiln, officiating.

Interment was in Rotten Bayou Cemetery. Pallbearers were Marvin Brumfield, Carl Fricke Jr., Wayne Mauffrey, Donald Mauffrey, Conrad Mauffrey and Woodrow Mauffrey.

Notes:
In 1929, James M and his father James E were convicted of grand larceny and were sentenced to four year terms at the South Dakota prison at Sioux Falls. Both and his brother, George F. (He was there for a different crime) can be found listed as inmates in on the 1930 census. He would serve 3 of the 4 year sentence and was paroled by the governor in 1932.
