Ruth Ann 'Ruthie' Alverson, 67, Collinsville, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Collinsville Funeral Home-Sharpe Chapel. The Rev. Billy Alverson officiating. Burial in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Collinsville Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Alverson was preceded in death by her father, Loyd Sims; mother, Irene Sims; and brother, Elbert Sims.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny Alverson; son, Danny (Teresa) Alverson; grandson, Jonathan (Erin) Alverson; granddaughter, Heather Alverson (Brad Ballenger); sisters, Charlotte (Kermit) Butler and Glenda (Robert) Green; special sister-in-law, Era Sheffield; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Stanley Adams, Kenny Dodd, Johnny McPherson, Jimmy Butler, Stan Sheffield and Gary Cox. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Ralph Wesley and ICU nurses at Riverview Regional Medical Center.
