Dorothy J. Margraves, age 75, of Jackson formerly of Albion passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Allegiance Hospice Home in Jackson, Michigan. She was born in 1936 to LeRoy and Ruth Miller in Albion, Michigan. Spouses: 1) Stanley Kulikowski. 2) In 1956 she married Jackson L. "Jack" Margraves who preceded her in death on March 1, 1991.
She moved to Jackson from Albion in 1975. Dorothy was Owner-Operator of Econowash Laundry Mat in Jackson, managed Sunshine Laundry in Albion before moving to Jackson. She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Albion, Life Member & Past President of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary #3672 and Life Member of the National Home.
Dorothy is survived by: Daughters, Brenda (David) Newsome of Jackson, Deborah (Jerry) Adkins of Jackson, Jackie Stiltner of Jackson; sons, Rick (Kulikowski) Margraves of Jackson, and Joe Garcia of Jackson; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sisters, Doris (Buddy) Ray of Asheboro, NC, and Donna (Elbert "Red") Martin of Albion; special niece, Ginger Pitale; and
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Stanley; grandson, Ricky De Shannon Margrave; sister, Beverly Tidwell and brothers, Joe and LeRoy Miller.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, August 28, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at the ERIE STREET CHAPEL of the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 208 West Erie Street, Albion, MI 49224.
Funeral Service will be Wednesday August 29, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Walt Nichols Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Albion.
