Jesse Wayne Johnson, 68, of 11475 Ebenezer Road, Gracey, died at 2:30 pm Tuesday at Jennie Stuart Medical Center after a long illness.
Services will be at 2 pm Friday at Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home, with the Rev. Herb Case officiating and burial in Cross Roads Cemetery, Caldwell County.
A native of Ada, Oklahoma, he was born May 11, 1922, son of the late Thomas J. and Ada Mae Glenn Johnson. He was a Baptist and a retired psychiatric aide at Western State Hosital where he worked for 27 years. He was a World War II Army veteran. His wife, Rachel Pauline Nixon Johnson, died in 1990, and a son, Billy Wayne Johnson, died in 1954.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. David (Linda) West, Mrs. G. W. (Carol) Croft, and Mrs. H. D. (Lorna) Malone, all of Christian County; a brother, Lonnie Johnson, Oklahoma; a sister, Ruby Whitehead, Tulsa, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
