Ruth married John Buckley Apr 8, 1877 in Cordova, IL at the Cordova Baptist Church. Her grandmother, Charity Golden Marshall was a founding member of the church upon moving to there in 1842.
Ruth & John had 7 children all together: Anna R., William J., Marie, Ruth A., Justin, Laura & Sara Buckley. The two youngest having quite a tale in fortune telling in Hawaii about 1912.

Ruth was an exceptional woman who lived with and took care of daughter Marie, an invalid, until her own death at 100+ She lived in Salt Lake City for 40 years after her husband died, 32 years at the same residence. She was a practicing nurse and traveled with her husband across the prairies of Iowa 'n Nebraska, as he was an itinerant Baptist Minister. She went to the California gold fields with her son Justin to pan for gold, even. She was remembered by her son, Justin, as to chopping wood and doing hard physical work while in her 90's. In later years she became very deaf, but was alert mentally. She did beautiful crochet and other handwork, piecing quilts and embroidery.

Past & Pres. of R. Is. Co., Ill., 1877 p. 387 shows a Marshall, R.A. as in millinery, dress and cloak making; Cordova; owns house and contents... don't know if this could be gr gr grandma, the first Ruth or not at age 21, but most likely.
