Mr. Johnson was a graduate of Indiana University and practiced law in Boonville. He was recorder & treasurer of Warrick Co. and was appointed Provost Marshall of that county's first district. He was a member of old Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He left to his heirs a desk over which Attorney Brackenridge of Boonville used for his speeches which Abraham Lincoln walked 15 miles to hear.
