Robert T. O'Hara, 53, 1860 East Lake Road, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 1996, at Hamot Medical Center.

He was born in Erie, July 14, 1943, son of Elizabeth "Betty" Connelly O'Hara and the late Joseph O'Hara.

He was a graduate of St. Patrick Grade School and a 1962 graduate of East High School. He obtained an associate degree in business from San Diego Community College.

Mr. O'Hara served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War with an intelligence unit stationed in Turkey.

For the past 18 years, he was a city of Erie firefighter stationed at Engine Co. 13. He was a certified emergency medical technician and was also on the Erie Fire Department Scuba Squad.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, William J. and Martin G. O'Hara.

Besides his mother, he is survived by two sisters, Ellen Vahey and her husband William and Jean Bretz and her husband David, all of Erie; a brother, Joseph R. O'Hara and his wife Sandra of Erie.

Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
