BAPTIST PAA
Baptist Paa passed away at his home on South Front Street Tuesday morning at 2:30 aged 50 years, two months, 23 days. Death was due to tuberculosis with which he had been afflicted for about a year. Since August he had been confined to his bed.
The deceased was born in the Pilsener Kreis, Bohemia, Austria, June 26th, 1864, and came to this country in 1884 and directly to New Ulm where he has since resided. He was married the following year to Katie Zangl who with eight children mourn his untimely death. Three children died in infancy. The surviving children are Mrs. Albert Hoffmann, Lafayette Township; Mrs. Glenn Warren, Tracy; Katie, Hedwig, Charles, Carl, Gustav and Louis who are still at home. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Anton Lindmeyer and Mrs. Carl Pregler, both of this city. At the time of his death he was a member of the St. Joseph's Society and the members will attend the funeral in a body.
For 25 years the deceased was a section foreman on the Chicago & Northwestern. He was a true, honest and trustworthy man and had the confidence of his neighbors and friends. The funeral will be held Thursday morning at 9:30 from the Catholic Church, Rev. Schlinkert officiating. Interment will be made in the Catholic cemetery.
