Hiram E. Davis

The funeral services for Hiram E. Davis, who died Saturday at his home at 917 North Jackson street, will be held at 1:30 o’clock this afternoon in Conwell’s chapel. Mr. Davis was 71 years old. He was born in Pontiac, Mich., and came to Shawnee county in 1873. In 1878 he was married to Mary Jane Andrews. Mrs. Davis died in 1899 and Mr. Davis left their farm in the northern part of Shawnee county and came to Topeka where he lived until his death.

Mr. Davis served in the Civil was as a member of the Eighth regiment, Michigan cavalry. He was a member of Blue Post No. 250, G. A. R. Mr. Davis is survived by two brothers, one living in Michigan and the other in Texas; also a stepdaughter, Cora Antrim, of Cedar Rapids, Ia., and a stepson, F. E. Andrews, of St. Joseph, Mo.

The burial will be in Prairie Home cemetery.
