She was born on August 21, 1916 in Greene County to Elias and Rosie (Carmichael) Patterson. She retired from RCA after 30 years of service. She was a member of the Ellettsville First Baptist Church since 1949. While attending church she was a past Deaconess, a Sunday school teacher, President of the American Baptist Women and of the Children's Bible School. Within the community she was a member of the Lizzie Rebecca Lodge and served as a Noble Grand, a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Ellettsville; Women's Auxiliary of Bloomington Hospital, Inter Faith Women's Organization, a board member of the Methodist Cemetery Assoc., and a past Ellettsville Fall Festival Senior Queen in 1992.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Claude N. Cantrell; 2 brothers; 3 sisters; 1 step-grandchild, and 2 sons-in-law.
Nettie is survived by her children; Bill Keller (Martha) of Bloomington; Harold "Buck" Keller (Mary) of Ellettsville; Jim Keller (Carol) of Paris, IL, Doris Stillions, of Bloomington; and Joyce Jackson (Richard) of Ellettsville; grandchildren, Randall Keller, Julie Hamm, Kerry Keller, Vanessa Perry, Dan Keller, Beth Keller, Jennifer Rossis, Mike Davidson, Gary Davidson, Susan Clement, Debra Satterfield, Cristina Young, Roger Young, Doug Keller, Mary Beth Kasprisin; sister, Edna Case of Bloomington; brother, Dale Patterson of Greene County; 26 great-great grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren
Funeral services will be held at Chandler Funeral Home on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Villanova officiating. Burial is to follow at Methodist Cemetery.
