Ernest was born in Winnsboro, S.C. and was the son of the late Frizell and Blanche (Walker) Anderson. Ernest was employed as a CNC Technician for Colt's Manufacturing, W. Hartford. Ernest was a member of St. James Baptist Church, New Britain and Pride of CT Lodge of Elks # 1437, New Britain.
Ernest is survived by his beloved wife, Bernice (Copeland) Anderson of New Britain; his step-mother, Carrie Lou Anderson of Winnsboro, S.C.; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald V. and Angela Anderson of Bristol; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Sandra and Ramon Sanchez of Lancaster, PA, Donna Anderson of New Britain, Pamela and Norman Hicks of Greensboro, N.C., Susie Anderson of New Britain; four brothers, Frizell Anderson and Webster Anderson, both of Winnsboro, S.C., Billy Anderson of E. Hartford and Larry Anderson of Hartford; four sisters, Frances Freeman and Alberta Lumpkins, both of Winnsboro, S.C., Marie Jones of Sewell, N.J., Marjorie Byrd of Winnsboro, S.C.; 13 grandchildren, Lydia, Ramona, Gloria, Allie, Reuben, Jordan, Jonah, Jacob, Christopher Kendall, Kenna, Timothy and Samuel; and a host of aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ernest was predeceased by a sister, Annie Mae Russell and two brothers, Franklin and Lawrence Anderson.
Homegoing Celebration will be held Tuesday, Sept. 18, 11 a.m. at St. James Baptist Church, 20 Dix Ave., New Britain, with the Rev. Alfred L. Smith Jr., Pastor, officiating. Committal service and final resting place will be in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Relatives and friends may call at St. James Baptist Church, Monday from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. Service of comfort provided by the Paul A.
