Fern Viola Sarver Manuel, 93, resident of Prairie Rose Health Care Center, of Pana, IL passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 6:15 p.m. Fern Sarver was born November 8, 1918 at Herrick, IL, Fayette County, known as Buck Rough. She was the daughter of Charles E. & Nora (Hawyer) Sarver. She married James "Jim" Manuel on February 20, 1937. They were blessed with 3 sons: James R. and wife Linda Manuel of Decatur, IL; Jack L. and wife (Sue) Manuel of Houston, TX, and Jerry D. Manuel deceased and daughter-in-law Debbie Pearse of Nokomis, IL. One brother Nelson Sarver and wife (Louise) of Decatur, IL; 8 grandchildren - James Manuel, Jr., Michelle Manuel Carroll, Melinda Manuel Dereak, Debbie Manuel Hussain, Jerry Manuel, Jr., Dawn Manuel, Renee Manuel, and Joshua Manuel; 17 great grandchildren - Paul, Alexa, Adrianna, Arianna, James and Xavier Dereak, Mason, Sara, Samantha, Shadow and Stone Carroll, Yusuf, Asiyah and Hakeem Hussain, Noah and Connor Simonton and Jordan Manuel; and by a lot of nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim on March 13, 2005, 1 son Jerry, 4 brothers (one in infancy) and 3 sisters.

Her funeral service will be held Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home, Pana with Richard (Dick) Wamsley, Minister of Taylorville Christian Church, where she was a member, officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Pana, IL. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
