Heinrich Wilhelm August Abel

HENRY ABEL, 72, Brillion farmer and former town and school board official, died Saturday night at his farm a mile outside the village. He had been in failing health for the past year.
Funeral services will be held at Peaces of Re Reformed church in Potter, of which Mr. Able was a member.

Mr. Abel was born in Meeme in 1868 and 51 years ago located on a farm near Brillion. In 1894 he married Miss Ida Matthies of Rantoul. He served six years as a treasurer of the school district, was a town supervisor for several terms and assessor of the town of Brillion in 1936, 1937 and 1938. He resigned because of ill health and was succeeded by his son, Irwin.

Survivors are the widow, two sons, Irwin of Brillion and Clarence of Anderson, Ind., two daughters, Mrs. Frank Kulow of Terre Haute, Ind., Esther of Brillion; three brothers, William of Brillion, Fred of Springdale, Pa., August of Huron, S.D.; and four grandchildren.
