Gerard Anthony McMahon, 65

Jerry McMahon, known to his friends and family as "Jerbear," died peacefully November 10, 2011, with his wife and his close friend Wayne Manla by his side.
He was born December 12, 1946, in Belfast, Ireland to Mary and Francis McMahon. He moved to the United States when he was 5 years old and grew up in Bronx, New York. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1972, Jerry went on to Apprentice School to become an Architectural Carpenter. He worked for over 30 years, both domestically and internationally, for John Langenbacher Company. Throughout his career he received many awards and his work has been featured in various Architectural magazines, including Architectural Digest.

Above all, Jerbear enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He had a love of boating and fishing and was huge sports fan. He was a 20-year resident of Key Biscayne and a member of the Key Biscayne Yacht Club and The American Legion.

Jerbear will always be remembered for his warm heart and sweet smile. He is survived by his wife Connie McMahon, his sons Damien and Marty McMahon, their wives Melissa and Jessica McMahon, his five grandchildren and his brothers Brian and Jim McMahon.

Family and friends can honor and celebrate Jerry's life Saturday, November 19, at 1 p.m. at the Key Biscayne Community Church.
