WOODBINE — Service for James F. Alvis, 64, of Woodbine will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday at First Christian Church in Woodbine.
Scripture service will be at 7:30 tonight at Fouts Funeral Home in Woodbine.
Mr Alvis died December 19 at Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley. He farmed in the Woodbine area.
Survivors include his wife Evelyn; two daughters Mary Clause of Yankton, South Dakota and Anna Allen of Omaha; five sons Michael and Donn both of Woodbine; Dennis of Logan; Tim of Stromsburg, Nebraska and David of Keosauqua; two sisters Mickey Ulmer of Arkansas and Linda Parker of Grant; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Bride of James Alvis WOODBINE -- Miss Evelyn Shaw and James Alvis were married January 18, 1949, at the Presbyterian parsonage by the Rev. Henry Kruse. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Alvis. Mr. and Mrs. Merlyn Woodward were their attendants. The bridegroom is employed with George Barry. His bride has been teaching.
