Edith Irene Harrison Cooper, 93, of Fort Payne passed away Friday, August 31, 2012. Mrs. Cooper loved the Lord and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and later Central Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Davis, Rev. Thomas Cagle, and Rev. Benjie Mason officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 until 8 p.m.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Mack and Ruby Cooper, daughter Phyllis Lewis, brother Louis Flora, sisters Willie Haynes and Lila Hamilton, grandchildren Kim (Lance) Poe, Craig Stanley, Karen (Chris) McAbee, and David (Jennifer) Stanley, and her great-grandsons Dallas Poe and Baeden McAbee. She was preceded in death by her husband Leman Cooper, infant son James Tommy Cooper, and several brothers and sisters.

Serving as pallbearers are family and special friends Mack Cooper, Dallas Poe, David Stanley, Lance Poe, Chris McAbee, Baeden McAbee, Lanar Wilburn, and Jason Bell and as honorary bearers Gary Bell, Jonathan Shankles, Glenn Jones, and Bobby Keef.

The Cooper family extends heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Cooper's special caregivers through the years.
