Leonhardt Rieger was a Brewery Magnate in Philadelphia Pa about 1900. He reportedly came from Elwangen, Germany. Leonhardt had several brothers, none of which stayed together in America. He partnered with Gretz to form Rieger-Gretz Brewery located at 5th above Girard Ave. During Prohibition Mary Glatthorn Rieger, Leonhardt's Widow, sold all interests in the Brewery to Gretz Beer which produced beer until the late 1950's.
