Maria Plooster was born Jan. 1, 1895 on a farm near Harrison to Mr. & Mrs. Abraham Brink. She was baptized & made confession of her faith in her lord in the First Reformed Christian Church of Harrison. She was a member until the time of her death.
She was united in marriage to Engel Plooster Feb. 18, 1916 & lived on a farm south of Harrison. To this union six children were born: Willard, Adrianne, Antoinette, Arlo, Elsie, & Dean. Her husband passed away Apr. 30, 1962. In 1963 she & her son Willard moved to Harrison. Due to ill health she became a resident of Pleasant View Nursing Home in Oct. 1980. She passed away Thurs., Oct. 5, at Douglas County Memorial Hospital in Armour at the age of 94.
She leaves to mourn, her children: Mr. & Mrs. Heyme DeLange, Mrs. Ernest Everson, Mr. & Mrs Arlo Plooster, Mr. & Mrs. William Jongsma, & Mr. & Mrs Dean Plooster; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Allie Versteeg, Pleasant View Home; Jennie Menning, Rock Valley, Ia. & Sarah DeHaai, Spearfish. She was preceded in death by her husband & son, Willard; son-in-law Ernest Everson; 5 brothers & 3 sisters.
