Born to J. Herman and Eula Belle Stiltz Jurgens, Edna married Orville Himmel on July 14, 1937, in Keokuk, Iowa. He died Dec. 29, 1979.

She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Orvillene Beltz; and two sisters.

Surviving are two sons, Duane (and Wanda) of Topeka and Nelson (and Trena) of Washington; one daughter, Marilyn (and Douglas) Budke of Havana; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, Floyd (and Lois) Jurgens of Petersburg; and two sisters, Ruth (and Ken) Dobbe of Pleasant Plains and Marie (and Rob) Burris of Arenzville.

She worked as a licensed practical nurse and later in the deli at the IGA grocery and at Morgan's Super Market.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Havana, the Ladies Aid Society and the Altar Guild.

Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
