Mr. Kramp was born in Germany and lived in this city. For thirty-two years he worked at the Wabash shops (railroad). He was held in high esteem by a large circle of friends. Mr. Kramp was a member of St. Vincent's Society. He is survived by his widow, Helena Kramp, two sons, Nicholaus and Frank, of this city, two daughters, Mrs. Mary McKinney of Pekin and Mrs. Helena Blaser (Bleser) of this city and six grandchildren.

Nicholaus arrived in the USA in New York on April 12, 1864 on the ship Cornelius Grinnell.
He married Helena Scharf on 4 May 1868 in Springfield, IL. Together they had 6 children: Mary, Helena, Nicholas, Frank, William Charlie (Karl), Josephina.
