Christ. Bachman immigrated on May 3, 1852 from the small town of Lauchroeden, Saxony, near Eisenach. He settled in Tamaqua, PA working as a miner in the anthrocite mines. He married Dorothea Freudenberger in 1856. They would have 5 children: Catherine Elizabeth Wittig, Marie Christian Eisinger, John Franklin Bachman, William Henry Bachman, and Louis Elmer Bachman.
