Suggested edit: My 2nd Great Grandfather JOA Hooker was not in the 19th SC infantry. He was in the 20th SC Infantry Co. D. He was not a POW but was sent to C.S. Shoe Shop in Columbus Ga. to make shoes. He was returned to the Army in 1864. US Archive Record 49628964. Also reference "The History of Kershaws Brigade" by Dickert where he appears on a roster of 20th Inf Co. D along with his brothers. Contributor: Steve Bishop (48082368)
