MONTPELIER — Daniel Wayne Kunz, 59, passed away of natural causes at his home. He was born May 7, 1953, to Olive Mae Hunter and Wayne O'Neal Kunz in Montpelier.

Dan worked hard all his life delivering milk, farming, working on an oil rig, and then returning to farming. Dan graduated from Bear Lake High School.

He married Susan Tippetts in the Logan LDS Temple on August 28, 1981.

He was active in the church, serving in many callings including three bishoprics, as a high councilor, and at the time of his passing, first assistant in the high priest group.

Dan enjoyed reading church-related books, attending the temple, doing acts of service, working on the farm, especially with his kids, dark chocolate orange sticks, and quick.

Danny is survived by his wife, Sue; three sons, Chris (Anna) Kunz of Preston, and Jon and Ben Kunz of Montpelier; one daughter, Rebecca, of Montpelier; one brother, Brett (Marty) Kunz of Montpelier, four sisters, LuAnn (Ken) Transtrum of Morgan, Utah, Karla (Steve) Stumpp of West Haven, Utah, Sharon Dimick of Pocatello, and Julie (Boyd) Pugmire of Franklin. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Kunz.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at noon in the Montpelier First Ward Chapel. Friends may call prior to services from 10 to 11:45 a.m. There will be a night visitation on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Matthews Mortuary. Interment will be in the Montpelier Cemetery
