Robert 'Bob' Lashley, 82, of Evening Shade, AR., died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at his home.
Mr. Lashley was born Oct. 1, 1930, in Sitka, Ark.
He was a retired Marine Corps sergeant major, a deputy with Miller County Sheriff's Office and Sharp County Sheriff's Office, member of Calvary Baptist Church, Evening Shade, and a Korean War and Vietnam War veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Freda Lashley; one son, Eddie Eugene Lashley; and one grandson, Robert Vance Lashley.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Katherine Lashley of Texarkana; one brother, Phil Lashley of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; five sisters, Brenda Michaels of Corinth, Miss., Alma Roberts of Petal, Miss., Jo Dunn of Memphis, Tenn., Georgia Cates of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo., and Juppie Joiner of Dalton, Ga.; five grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Funeral services were at Calvary Baptist Church, Evening Shade. Burial was in Campground Cemetery under direction of Qualls Funeral Home.
