David H. Penke, 72, of Oshkosh died Saturday June 9, 2012 at Aurora Medical Center.
He was born July 2, 1939 in Ripon a son of the late Harold and Elizabeth Penke. David worked at the Plaza Hotel in New York City as a decorator and also did calligraphy for many businesses and people, including Donald Trump and other dignitaries.
His survivors include special friends, Jaime Medina and Harry Reese; a sister Marie Toepke; and a niece Denise Chaitkin.
A memorial service for Dave is being held at Jaime's house (215 E Gruenwald Ave) on Monday, June 18, 2012, at 1:00 p.m., Chaplain Vicki Marxen will officiate.

I am the son of Harry Lester Penke (1909-1977) and Elizabeth Hildegard Schmuhl (b. 1917 -) Grandson of Ferd and Jesse Penke.
Many ancestors on my grandmother's line (LUKER & NASH) are buried in Nepeuskun Cemetery, Winnebago Co. I was born in 1939 in Ripon.
On my mother's side are also Parker's who came from Cortland County, NY Abel Parker and Hannah Rose Parker were my gg grandparents. They lived at Fish Lake for many years. Their son Byron Parker was my Grandfather. He married Augusta Kort and they eventually moved to Ripon. They had two daughters, one of which was my grandmother -Vivian Parker. Vivian married Bill Schmuhl and they had a daughter named Elizabeth Hildegard Schmuhl as mentioned above. Elizabeth was my mother.
And also Schmuhl - who came to Fairwater, Wisconsin in 1893 - Carl Joachim David Schmuhl and Magdelene Marie Brandenburg Schmuhl being my ggg grandparents.
Other names include Elvers and Bliske and many more.
