CARPENTER James Willard Carpenter, passed away on September 5, 2012 in Cincinnati, OH. Jim was born on February 28, 1935 in Columbus, OH. He graduated from North High School in Columbus in 1952. While attending Ohio State University he met and married Rose Ellen Levitsky on April 2nd, 1955. Jim then enlisted in the Marine Corps, serving as a pilot and attaining the rank of First Lieutenant. After his military service, Jim went back to school, graduating from OSU Law School in 1963 as a member of the Order of the Coif and the Law Review. He became a Full Professor at OSU Law School, and then pursued a career at Western Southern Life, moving to Cincinnati, OH in 1971. Jim loved his family, golfing and the Ohio State Buckeyes, spending his spare time traveling, hiking and camping. Jim was preceded in death by Rose, and is survived by his sister, Carolyn Manter; seven children, James, John, Matthew, Elizabeth, Mary, Rebecca and Robert; and nine grandchildren, David, Johnny, Brian, Kaitlin, Ethan, Samuel, Alexsia, James and William. No visitation is planned. Funeral arrangements are private. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati, Inc., P.O. Box 633597, Cincinnati, OH 45263-3597.
