DANIELS WINSTON-SALEM - Addie "Marie" Daniels July 29, 2011 On July 29, 2011 the Lord wrapped his arms around Ms. Addie "Marie" Daniels and took her to Heaven after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Franklin, NC and moved to Winston Salem when she was a teenager. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when she passed away. She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Herbert Daniels, mother Ms. Jessie Catherine McDonald, father Mr. Willie Lee McDonald, and grandson Demarcus Levon Daniels. She was also preceded in death by a sister in law Mrs. "Phyllis "Kat" Daniels Rice and brother in law Mr. Leroy "Chief" Moxley" as well as several other biological brothers and sisters. She is survived by a brother Mr. Charles McDonald, two sons Vernon "Bugie" Daniels and Reginald "Buffy" Daniels, one daughter Celisha "Lady" Daniels and five grandchildren Masters Joshua Daniels, Devonne Daniels, Josie Daniels, Jehosaphat Daniels and Dante Daniels. Along with a host of sister in laws (Marlene and Iva Lee), brother in laws (Larry, Bud, Johnny, Bobby, Sandy), along with many other cousins, friends and family. Marie worked at R.J. Reynolds for well over 10 years but retired from Lee Jeans in 2003. She was one of the most pleasant spirits you would ever care to meet. She was always smiling, laughing and encouraging others in whatever they may have been going through. Throughout her illness her family, friends, staff at Oak Forest, Dr. Greenwood, Brodkin and the staff at Forsyth Medical Center were astounded by her resilience and ability to remain positive no matter what was going on within her body. She was truly an outstanding woman, whose strength was beyond this earthly realm. Professional services and the viewing of the body will be Tuesday, August 2, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Beasley's funeral home on Old Greensboro Rd. There will also be a viewing before the funeral on Wednesday, August 3, at 10:30 a.m. with the funeral following at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 4780 Westchester Rd., W-S, NC 27103, off of Jonestown Rd. She will be buried at Evergreen Cemetery. The family and friends will meet at her home, 1310 West Sedgefield Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27107 after the funeral on August 3, by 2:00 p.m.
