Elinor Louise Pate, age 81, of 100 Old Farm Road, Erwin, passed away at the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, September 5, 2012. She was a native of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late Oscar and Maude Day Miller. Louise was employed through the former Industrial Garment. She was an active member of Erwin Pentecostal Holiness Church and was the best cook in the world. She was the pianist and a vocalist for the former Unaka Quartet. She did volunteer work through Long Term Care at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital, Clinchfield Senior Citizens Center, local nursing homes and Care & Share. In addition to her parents, Louise is preceded in death by her husband, Samalee on January 1, 2011, a son, Ronnie Pate, sisters, Gertrude Vanover, Juanita Shell, Belle Franklin, and brothers, Harvey Miller, Paul Miller.

Funeral services will be held for Louise on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Earl Ragland, Reverend David Crutchfield and Reverend James Hughes will officiate. Vocal selections will be provided by Jamie Hughes and by The Landmarks. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 5:00 PM until service time at Valley Funeral Home. The committal service will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at 10:00 AM at McInturff Cemetery, Rock Creek Community, Erwin. Those who will be in attendance will meet at the cemetery by 9:50 AM, on Sunday. Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Allen, Casey Pate, Steve Shell, Kenneth Lewis, Mike Tittle, Lee Vanover, Dan Stack, Darrell Purdue, and Johnny Day. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions be made to Care & Share, 344 Carolina Ave., Erwin, TN 37650.
