suddenly at his Vauxhall home
were conducted Thursday Thursday, March 21,1957
afternoon from Parkview
United Church at Vauxhall with
Rev. T. B. Buchanan of Taber
officiating. officiating Hymns
chosen were "Jesus Loves My Soul
Soul. 'and Rock of Ages.
A large number of oldtimers of Vauxhall
were present Graveside rites at the Travers
cemetery were conducted by the
local Canadian Legion, acting as pallbearers
A delegation from Lethbridge
consisting of N H. Bradley
of the highways department and his staff, was in attendance
Mr. Bain was born at Leeds,
Quebec, on December 29, 1888, living
in eastern Canada until the
First Great War in which he enlisted
for four years in the llth
Field Engineers.- On discharge in
1919, he came west to Travers
and following his marriage in
1920 to Blanche Low, moved to
Vauxhail. He operated a draying
service for 25 years, and since
1945 he was a construction foreman.
He was a member of the
Oddfellows Lodge of Inverness.
Quebec, and in 1917 was awarded
the Military-Medal.
Survivors include his wife and
son Edward at Vauxhall, a son
John at Caledonia, Ontario, two grandchildren, also two brothers and four sisters in eastern Canada
