Frances "Fronnie" Bryant Gardner

July 16, 1927 - January 29, 2011

Frances (Fronnie) Bryant Gardner of Mooresville, N.C., went to be with our Lord Saturday, January 29, 2011. She died peacefully at her home. She was 83 years old. Born July 16, 1927 in Columbia, S.C., she was the daughter of the late George McLean Bryant and Margaret Sheriff Bryant.

For more than 50 years Fronnie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mooresville, N.C., where she served in many capacities. She was actively involved in Circle #4 and LOGOS. She held a Wednesday morning Bible study in her home for many years and conducted numerous Bible studies in Mooresville churches. She also taught a Bible study at the Mooresville Soup Kitchen until 2004 and received the Faithful Servant of the Year Award.

Fronnie graduated from Dreher High School in Columbia, S.C. She graduated from the University of South Carolina, cum laude, with a degree in Education. She taught in the North Carolina public school system in Mooresville, N.C.

Fronnie was preceded in death by her husband John Tipton Gardner and two sisters Alice B. Mangum and Miriam B. Means.

She is survived by her brother Harold M. Bryant of Columbia, S.C.; her much-loved cousin Byron DeCaron (Nancy) of Mooresville, N.C.; her nephews and nieces Bryant Mangum of Richmond, Va., Beth Gaddy of Winnsboro, S.C., Ann Means of Hickory, N.C., Sara Moscati (Paul) of Blythewood, S.C., Bill Means (Karen) of Hickory, N.C.; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends especially LoraLee Holshouser, Janet Reece Moore, Mary Vanderburg, and Beverly Stowe. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Sara Barnette for the loving care she gave Fronnie for many years. She will also be missed by her beloved pets Rhett, Scarlett, and Sugar.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 o'clock on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home and Crematory in Mooresville. Interment will be at 1 o'clock on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 in Glenwood Cemetery in Mooresville, and will be followed at 2 o'clock by a celebration of Fronnie's life at the First Presbyterian Church of Mooresville. Memorials may be made to The Salvation Army and The Gideons. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.
