Kristie Ann Higdon, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, lost her courageous six year battle with breast cancer on September 6, 2012. She is now in peace and pain free with her Lord and Savior.
Kristie was born January 18, 1974 in Anchorage, Alaska to Peggy J. and Howard H. Higdon.
She graduated from Wando High School and Clemson University.
Kristie has been a Registered Nurse since 1996. She worked for Hospice of Charleston and Hollings Cancer Center for several years and is loved by both patients and staff. These organizations were the love of her life to which she was totally dedicated. Her life was all about helping others.
Kristie leaves behind a lasting legacy as a brilliant and devoted registered nurse who touched the lives of hundreds of patients and their families.
She is survived by her parents of Kelly, NC (formally of Mt. Pleasant), a sister, Sandra Martin of Conway, SC and a brother, Charles Higdon of Kelly, NC.
Many thanks to Hollings Cancer Center, Hospice of Charleston, MUSC and her many friends. God will reward their compassionate and professional care. She had so many friends; recognizing each is not possible. Stephanie Townsend, Carol Young, Pat Brame, and many other friends made it possible for her to live in her home for her last three months of life. We thank all at Hollings for Kristie's care. We also thank Hospice Center Of Charleston for the end-of-life care given with compassion and dignity.
