The body was discovered by Robert Johnpierre who was gathering driftwood at the base of the chasm where the water had receded.
Johnpierre notified Patrolman Patrick Ryan of the Keeseville village police force who in turn notified Troopers George Kidney and R. E. Waddell. The troopers went to the scene and after receiving permission from Dr. C. J. Culver of Au Sable Forks, Essex County coroner, had the body removed to a mortuary.
The little tot toppled into the river which flows past the rear of his home while at play at about 11:40 o'clock on Saturday morning, February 20, 1937.
The funeral was held from the home of his parents in Au Sable Forks on Sunday, April 25, 1937. Interment was in Holy Name cemetery.
