Nicholas W. "Nicky" Abadella, 89, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Fishkill, NY he had lived in North Brunswick before moving to Milltown six years ago. He had worked as a coder at Bristol-Myers Squibb in New Brunswick for over 25 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Bristol-Myers Squibb Quarter Century Club and the Bristol-Myers Squibb Retirees Club.
Surviving are his daughter, Marcy Palinkas and her husband John of Hillsborough; his significant other, Leslie Oliver of Piscataway and her children, Andrew Boucek of Quincy, Massachusetts, Lawrence Boucek of Jackson, NJ and Liana Boucek of Piscataway; stepchildren, Carolyn Varick and Edward Michaels both of East Brunswick; a nephew, William Abadella of North Brunswick and a niece, Patricia Vicente of Maui, Hawaii.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Entombment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in New Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
