In 1879 Edward was employed as a druggist for Joseph Schaller & Co. In Feb 1882, the firm dissolved

& Edward went with Mr.Fredricks & took charge of his store until April 17, when he took the position

of Assistant Postmaster, with Mr. Parent, in the Iron Mountain, Dickinson, Michigan Post Office.

Edward was one of Iron Mountain's first pioneers & was elected alderman. He was also a member

of Iron Mountain F. & A.M. Lodge.

Catherine was the daughter of Hiram Damon & Emily (Keyes) Fisher.

Edward & Catherine were married in Florence, Florence, Wisconsin on January 24, 1884 & moved Iron Mountain to live. Catherine gave music lessons & held recitals in the old Fisher Hall building, 100 block

of Ludington Street. She also assisted in organizing an Eastern Star Chapter in 1887, serving as its first Worthy Matron. The Ingram's attended Holy Trinity Episcopal Church & were they parents of 3 children,

2 daughters & 1 son, all born in Iron Mountain Emily b. 1988 & died 1963 in Iron Mountain.

It was in 1881, that Edward J. Ingram, stopped to visit at the house in Florence, Wisconsin, of her

sister Mrs. Oliver Evans & met Miss Kate. 3 years later they were married & moved to East B Street,

Iron Mountain. After her husband's death, Mrs. Kate organized classes in piano instruction, while

also playing for dances & entertainments.

They are the parents of 3 children: H.D.F. Ingram, Mrs. Paul H. Graven & Mrs. W.R. Chambers.
