Bascom Eddie Johnson, 74, of Bigelow, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, September 9, 2012. He was born Monday, February 14, 1938 in Roswell, New Mexico to the late Ora Bascom and Mildred Faye (Stacy) Johnson.

He was a veteran of the United States Army entering in 1955 and serving in Germany, Korea and Vietnam. He also was a member of VFW Post 2259 in Conway where he served on the Honor Guard and was a member of Masonic Lodge #429.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; and a sister, Kay Hatten.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Ellen Johnson; 3 sons; 5 daughters; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Faye Murry of Sulphur Springs, Texas; and a brother, Major Willis, Sulphur Springs, Texas.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in the Chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway (501)327-7727. Interment with military honors will be at 12:00 noon Wednesday at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Visitation will be general.

Memorials maybe be made to the Honor Guard, VFW Post 2259, P.O. Box 667, Conway, AR 72033.
